War and conflicts: A large majority of the Danish parties want equality between the sexes when it comes to conscription.

However, the question creates problems in the negotiations on a broad defense settlement, which will open up not only female conscription, but also a major rearmament of the Danish defence.

The parties failed to agree on a meeting on Monday morning, and they therefore continue on Tuesday evening.

The result could be that a defense agreement is concluded without the Liberal Alliance and the Danish Democrats participating. The two parties have different ideological reasons for not supporting female conscription.

– I hope that ends meet. What is decisive for me is that we move forward with the rearmament of the Danish defence, says Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen on Monday.
