Jon Stewart to perform at the Bardavon in Poughkeepsie on March 1 – Daily Freeman

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Comedian Jon Stewart, perhaps best known for his role as host and executive Producer of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show With John Stewart,” will perform at the Bardavon, at 25 Market St., on Friday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m.

Stewart returned as host of “The Daily Show” on Monday and is scheduled to continue on Monday nights with the show’s correspondents hosting the remaining nights.

During his previous 16-year stint at “The Daily Show” Stewart redefined American political satire, an announcement said.

Since then, Stewart has advocated for 9/11 first responders and veterans’ health benefits.

In 2019, he received the New York City Bronze Medallion for his “tireless advocacy, inspiration, and leadership (helping to) pass the permanent authorization of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund,” a news release said.

He also advocated for veterans by helping pass the Honoring Our Pact Act of 2022 expanding healthcare access and funding to veterans exposed to toxic substances including burn pits, an announcement said.

Stewart has also hosted and executive produced “The Problem with John Stewart” on Apple TV+, serves as an executive producer on CBS’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and is a best-selling author.
