The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced January 1, 2025, as the deadline for the collection of Hajj payments from intending pilgrims in the state.
According to a statement issued by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman A. Dederi, the Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, disclosed this during a meeting with board employees and Local Government Hajj Centre Officers on Monday.
Danbappa said, “The deadline aligns with the 2025 Hajj Calendar issued by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), which mandates all states to remit their intending pilgrims’ details to the Commission on or before 7th January 2025.
“He stressed the importance of adhering to this directive to ensure a smooth and successful Hajj operation.”
Danbappa expressed concern over the low sales of Hajj seats and urged local government officers to intensify efforts to meet their seat allocation targets.
He also called for innovative strategies to boost seat sales and fulfill the state’s obligations within the stipulated timeframe.
Intending pilgrims have been advised to complete their payments by January 1, 2025, as late payments could lead to exclusion from the 2025 Hajj exercise.
