Lotte Kopecky is anything but satisfied with her own performance in the Tour de France Femmes. The Belgian did not get further than third places and that is not what she came for. After the round she will try to find out why she felt less during the race course.
Twice third, once sixth and once ninth: that is the final verdict for Kopecky in the Tour de France Femmes. These are results that many riders would sign up for, but for the Belgian, only winning in this round counted. Prior to the final stage of the round, she makes no secret of hopes for more: ‘I am hard on myself then. I can honestly say that I am not satisfied with my Tour. I didn’t come here for this.’
They are strong words from Kopecky at sporza, but fortunately there is also a hint of perspective. “Anyway, there are a lot of women at the start and taking a stage win was certainly not an easy goal to aim for,” it then sounds. She is also satisfied with the stage victory of her teammate Marlen Reusser and the second place of Demi Vollering in the general classification.
Kopecky is examined after Tour
After the round, however, Kopecky would like to know why she showed less than hoped for in the Tour. ‘Next week I will certainly have myself examined, a blood analysis performed’, she says. ‘We’ll put everything together and see what insight that gives.’
