Lead singer’s pregnancy scandal forces famous band to drop out of festival

BRIDGEPORT, Connecticut — The Foo Fighters will not be performing at a festival in Connecticut this weekend, just weeks after frontman Dave Grohl revealed he recently welcomed a baby outside of his marriage.

The band announced on Instagram Thursday that they “will no longer be appearing” at this weekend’s Soundside Music Festival — where they had been set to headline the second day of the festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Jack White and Greta Van Fleet are now slated to perform in the band’s place, according to the festival website.

Earlier this month, Grohl, the longtime guitarist and singer for the Foo Fighters and the former drummer for Nirvana, says he is the father of a newborn girl, but the mother is not his wife of 21 years.

“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl said in a post on social media. “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.”

Grohl did not identify the mother and also did not reveal any other details about the baby.

Grohl, 55, has been married for 21 years to director Jordyn Blum. They have three children, Violet Maye, 18, Harper Willow, 15, and Ophelia Saint, 10.

“I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together,” Grohl said.
