Leader PEC Zwolle took a new step towards promotion to the Eredivisie on Monday. The team of trainer Dick Schreuder won 0-1 at De Graafschap in the Kitchen Champion Division. NAC Breda suffered a painful defeat at home against Jong Ajax: 2-6.
At De Graafschap-PEC, Lennart Thy scored the only goal in the thirteenth minute. Although PEC certainly did not play great and De Graafschap insisted in the final phase and hit the crossbar through defender Rio Hillen, ‘De Blauwvingers’ managed to win the match.
Because of the three-pointer, PEC now has a six-point lead over pursuer Heracles Almelo. The Almeloans have played one game less. Number three VVV-Venlo follows at an appropriate distance.
Young Ajax had no problem with NAC. After more than half an hour it was already 0-4. Donny Warmerdam, Amourricho van Axel Dongen, Youri Baas and Lorenzo Lucca were the scorers against the powerless home team, who committed only one offense in the first half.
After the break, Francesco Conceição made it 0-5, after which the NAC of trainer Peter Hyballa limited the damage somewhat by hits from ElÃas Már Ómarsson and Jort van der Sande: 2-5. The final chord was for Youri Regeer. Young Ajax rises to sixteenth place with the victory and NAC is seventh.

VVV is doing good business
Almere City and VVV played a direct duel for third place in Flevoland. Although Almere City led 1-0 at halftime, VVV took off with the three points thanks to a very strong second half: 1-3. The second goal of the Limburgers was especially nice: midfielder Kees de Boer took the ball beautifully and found the long corner.
Mid-engine Roda JC won 2-0 against Jong AZ at home thanks to goals from Romano Postema and Bryan Limbombe. At Jong FC Utrecht-Jong PSV, a goal from Mathijs Tielemans made the difference: 0-1.
The match between ADO Den Haag and FC Eindhoven started fifteen minutes later because the club from the Hofstad was delayed during the journey to Eindhoven. At halftime the score was 0-1 due to an own goal by Jasper Dahlhaus.
Nevertheless, trainer Dick Advocaat had to settle for a draw. Naoufal Bannis took care of the 1-1 final score on behalf of Eindhoven with a loud bang. ADO is thirteenth and Eindhoven fifth.
