Lewandowski’s hat-trick saved Barcelona

Sport: The Pole’s hat-trick came after the break against a Valencia team that played the entire second half with ten men.

On two corners, Lewandowski put in 2-2 and 3-2. He topped it all off with an exquisite free kick in overtime.

The hat-trick sent the veteran striker up to 16 goals in La Liga.

Fermin Lopez put Barcelona in the lead after half-time, but Valencia hit back at the Olympic Stadium. 1-1 came through Hugo Duro, while Pepelu ensured the visitors were ahead at half-time.

Valencia’s goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili was sent off for handling outside the box in overtime of the 1st half.

With five games to go, Barcelona has grabbed second place. Made it two points ahead of Catalonia’s neighbors Girona.

Eleven points separate Real Madrid at the top of the table.
