BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, NOV 18 – In conjunction with the celebration of World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week 2024, the lights on the pedestrian bridge Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Bridge and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Bridge were lit in blue.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) occurs when infections no longer respond to antimicrobial treatment.

World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week 2024 (WAAW) carries the theme Educate, Advocate, Act Now and is celebrated every year from November 18 to 24.

This year’s celebration emphasizes the importance of raising awareness and understanding of AMR and promoting best practices among stakeholders to reduce the emergence and spread of AMR or drug-resistant infections.
