BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, NOV 28 – The public can get various products and services featured by local entrepreneurs while supporting local enterprises during the Local Product Expo 2024 which takes place at Halls 1 and 2, BRIDEX, Jerudong from today, 28 November to 1 December.
Local Product Expo 2024 in conjunction with the 8th Brunei December Festival is organized by the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (KSSUP) in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Brunei Economic Development Board through Darussalam Enterprise (DARe).
In connection with that, the Launch of the Local Product Expo 2024 was held at BRIDEX, Jerudong, today. Present as guests of honor and completing the launch of the expo were the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Honorable Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman; Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism, Honorable Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin and Acting Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department and Second Minister of Finance and Economy, Pengiran Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Zety Sufina binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Sani.

The expo is an effort by the government to provide a platform for local companies and entrepreneurs to promote and expand their respective product markets directly to buyers.
It also aims to highlight and increase public awareness of the products and services provided, provide opportunities for entrepreneurs and companies to generate income as well as the opportunity to hold networking sessions and business matching between suppliers and wholesalers to further strengthen the existing business network. .
More than 200 companies participated in the 4-day expo to promote and sell a variety of locally produced products and services consisting of agricultural and agri-food products, business, finance and banking, construction and interior design, downstream products and services, fisheries and fish processing, food and beverages, tourism and hospitality, transport and logistics, timber products, creative products, education services, fashion and clothing and information and communication technology (ICT).
Also held are several briefing sessions that are beneficial to entrepreneurs and the public in particular to learn more about business and entrepreneurship opportunities, branding and marketing, food and beverage marketing codes that are prudent for children, license application guidelines – fishing gear license and others.
In addition to that, several daily activities are also held with the opportunity to win attractive prizes as well as demonstration sessions including fruit tree breeding demonstrations, rice sensory taste and others suitable for families are also provided throughout the four-day expo.
The launch of the expo marks the start of the much awaited party which is the Brunei December 8th Festival which is an annual event of KSSUP through the Department of Tourism Development with the aim of encouraging the people and the public to vacation and spend while promoting the country as a tourist destination.
Local Product Expo 2024 is jointly supported by Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), BMC Food Industries Sdn Bhd and Sim Kim Huat (SKH) as well as Imagine Sdn Bhd, which is also the official telecommunications service provider for the expo.
