Lost man found walking long way from home: Gates Mills Police Blotter

Welfare check: Mayfield Road

Officers checked on a man, 49, walking along the roadway Nov. 17 and he explained that he had been out walking all night and got lost. He said he was trying to get home to Cleveland.

Officers contacted the man’s mother, but she was unable to pick him up, so they gave him a courtesy ride to her home, which was also his residence.

Officers believed the man exhibited some mental health issues.

Property damage: Gates Mills Boulevard

A resident found a lamppost knocked over at the end of her driveway Nov. 15.

She said she would speak with her landscapers because they had been at the home the previous day and may have accidentally struck it.

Suspicion: Gatewood Oval

A resident reported Nov. 18 that she may have been scammed out of $2,000 while using booking.com.

Upon investigation, it was not clear if she had been scammed or if there was a miscommunication.

Disturbance: SOM Center Road

Officers responded to the Gilmour Academy Ice Arena Nov. 20 for a disturbance and learned there was a custody dispute between a child’s mother and stepmother.

The two were debating who should be driving home the North Royalton girl, 15, who was a student from a visiting school.

She subsequently left with her stepmother, who had brought her to the school.

Warrant served: Chagrin River Road

An officer went to the Solon police department Nov. 22 to pick up a prisoner who had a trespassing warrant with the village.

The man was taken directly to the Lyndhurst Municipal Court to appear in front of a judge.

Animals: Sherman Road

Officers were asked to check on an injured deer on three legs Nov. 23.

The deer was located and appeared to have a broken leg but was with other deer and moving fine.
