Sport: YMCA beat Lysekloster 3-2 on Wednesday.

– After conversations with lawyers who have experience with this, we have now chosen to file a protest, says general manager Svein Kollen in Lysekloster to The Bergen newspaper.

YMCA player Adnan Hadzic played the 3rd round match against Sogndal and ended up being decisive when he scored in the penalty shootout.

At the same time, Hadzic had a yellow card from both the first and second round and should thus have been placed in the stands. In the next round, the YMCA knocked out Lysekloster, who have now filed a protest.

A protest must be notified within 48 hours of the end of the match, that is before 8pm on Friday. Just before the deadline expired, Kollen and co. the protest to the Norwegian Football Association (NFF), writes BA.

Basically, Sogndal is a party to the case. Sogndal did not protest after the defeat against YMCA. The NFF is aware of the blunder and has stated that they will decide whether there will be a sanction case next week, reports Bergensavisen.

– Here we have made a mistake that we were not aware of. It is only to be regretted, said general manager Thor Erik Stenberg of the YMCA to VG.
