M60: Swerving driver ‘nearly caused a pile-up’, GMP say

Officers from Greater Manchester Police’s traffic unit say the incident happened in the early hours of Monday morning on the M60.

They have now received dashcam footage of the incident.

A GMP spokesperson said: “An Auris driver nearly caused a pile up this morning on the M60 when exiting at the wrong junction, then swerving back onto the main carriageway across the hatch markings.

“Dashcam footage sent in to the Operation Considerate team by a member.

“The driver will be summonsed for due care.”

Operation Considerate is a coordinated effort by GMP to try and improve behaviour on the roads in Bolton and across the wider city region.

This comes amid long running concerns about unsafe driving on the roads as well as anti-social behaviour and the potential for accidents or other incidents.

Several arrests were made as part of Operation Considerate over the last weekend.

Always call 999 immediately in the event of an emergency.
