The Berlin Senate is discussing the planned administrative reform today (Pk 1300). The key points of the plan, which is one of the most important for the black-red coalition, are up for discussion. The aim of the reform is to create a more efficient and faster-working, citizen-friendly administration. To achieve this, the responsibilities between districts and the state are to be more clearly regulated, among other things.
The state level is to control the administration more closely – as it is said – on a city-wide basis. At the same time, the districts are to be given a greater opportunity than before to defend themselves against interventions by the Senate and to start their own initiatives at the state level. Several details are still open.
A legislative package is planned to implement the reform, which includes in particular a new State Organisation Act (LOG). It is to be introduced into the House of Representatives by the end of the year if possible.
