
A passenger on a Sunday flight from Los Angeles to Boston attempted to open the plane’s emergency doors mid-flight, according to authorities. The man allegedly went to stab a flight attendant in the neck with a broken spoon after airplane staff caught the man trying to open the emergency door.
Francisco Severo Torres, 33, of Leominster, Massachusetts, was charged with one count of interference and attempted interference with flight crew members and attendants using a dangerous weapon in connection with the Sunday incident. Torres was arrested by police Sunday evening at Boston Logan International Airport, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Massachusetts’ Office.
