BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 19 NOV – Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) has officiated the opening of Mekar FinTech Innovation Center located in the iCentre Building, Kampung Anggerek Desa on 14 November.
BDCB in a statement issued here, stated that the launch of the center was completed by BDCB Managing Director, Hajah Rokiah binti Haji Badar and was attended by senior BDCB officers and stakeholders from the community Fintech.
The ceremony started with a welcome speech from the Head of FinTech at BDCB, Haji Mohd Khairul Zaki bin Haji Mohidin.
Hajah Rokiah in his keynote speech emphasized the role of the center as a catalyst for FinTech innovation and also a platform for various stakeholders including entrepreneurs, industry experts, technology providers, academics and regulators to collaborate, drive innovation and help the growth of activities FinTech in this country.
The establishment of the center is also a strategic project below Financial Sector Blueprint 2016-2025 and BDCB Strategic Plan 2021-2025.
The center located at Bangunan iCentre, Kampung Anggerek Desa serves as a platform for businessmen to obtain guidance on regulatory affairs and further encourage the level of cooperation and innovation among the community FinTech through modern co-working space facilities and special event spaces.
