BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, SEPT 12 – To mark an important step towards increasing academic, cultural and social cooperation between the two institutions, Miftah An-Nur International Islamic School and Yunus Emre Institute (YEE) Turkiye, inaugurated a strategic partnership through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU), at the Miftah An-Nur campus, today.
The ceremony was witnessed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Brunei Darussalam, His Excellency Professor Dr Hamit Ersoy, as the guest of honor of the ceremony.
The agreement was signed by the Deputy Chairman of Miftah An-Nur, Haji Abu Bakar Haji Ibrahim, while YEE was represented by Lale Ersoy, as the Coordinator of the Turkiye Cultural Center.
Through the strategic collaboration, various programs including calligraphy and Turkiye language classes will be offered to students and the general public to strengthen cultural ties and expand learning opportunities.
The program will offer extra-curricular activities for Miftah An-Nur students, while the Miftah community and the public can participate in special sessions designed to develop academic, professional and cultural perspectives.
In addition to language and arts education, both institutions are committed to exploring further collaboration across education, culture, and social initiatives, enhancing the cultural bridge between Brunei and Turkey.
At the event, Professor Dr Hamit Ersoy emphasized the importance of cultural exchange, stating that cooperation with Miftah An-Nur is an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the two countries through education and cultural appreciation.
He also hopes to share Turkiye’s national heritage and provide students with new perspectives that will contribute to personal and professional growth.
The Executive Principal of Miftah An-Nur, Bilal Buttar, also expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership where the collaboration is a testament to our mission to provide a holistic learning experience that extends beyond the classroom environment.
“We are excited to offer students and the community Turkiye culture and language, as well as pave the way for greater academic and professional growth,” he explained.
