WASHINGTON, 01 NOV – More than 62 million Americans voted early with five days to go before the Election, according to data published yesterday.
Data from the University of Florida’s Election Lab tracker shows a total of 62,725,685 people voted either by mail or physically at a polling station.
Unlike 2020, when the US was in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, more voters chose to vote physically than by mail in this presidential election.
With just under a week to go before the Nov. 5 election, polls show Vice President Kamala Harris and her Republican challenger Donald Trump in a tight race, especially in seven key states.
Harris narrowly leads in Wisconsin and Michigan by 0.2 percent and 0.4 percent, respectively, according to a compilation of polls by the website RealClearPolitics.
Trump continues to lead in Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia.
However, the advantage is only at or below one percent in Nevada, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.
Trump gained larger advantages in Arizona (+2.4 percent) and Georgia (+2.7 percent).
