M’sia supports the UNGA regarding the absolute fundamental rights of Palestine

PUTRAJAYA, 12 DEC – Malaysia welcomes the two Resolutions related to the absolute fundamental rights of the Palestinian people that were passed during the 10th Special Emergency Session of the United Nations General Assembly held on 11 December 2024 in New York, United States.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement informed, the resolution titled Demand for Ceasefire in Gaza expressing a unified call by the international community to end violence, ensure accountability, and achieve lasting peace and stability in the region.

Meanwhile, the resolution titled Support for the Mandate of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) reflecting the unwavering support of the international community for the role and mandate of the UN Agency, as well as a clear commitment to resist any attempt to undermine and terminate its operations.

“Malaysia urges the international community to implement both Resolutions comprehensively immediately.

“Malaysia stands firm with its principled stance in supporting the right of the Palestinian people to form an independent and sovereign State, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the State Capital,” according to the statement. – Named
