Sport: The Spaniard won 6-1 in the first set against Argentina’s Pedro Cachin and looked set for a comfortable trip to the next round. Instead, the fight took a new turn.

Nadal was broken twice in the set that followed. He was 1-4 down, but Cachin was unable to hold on to the advantage. Many breaks came close, and the players had to go into a tiebreak.

There Nadal lost 5-7. A third set was played to decide a winner, and there the old clay king showed routine and won 6-3. The settlement lasted a little over three hours.

In the next round, Nadal will face Jiri Lehecka. The young Czech is number 31 in the world rankings, while Nadal is all the way down to 512th place as a result of a long injury break.

Recently, Nadal was back in competition for the first time in over three months. He is probably in his last year as an elite player.
