BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 20 NOV – In compliance with the order of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, that it is hereby informed that His Majesty has granted the order order for the appointment of the new King Appointing Council membership, namely His Highness Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran The son of Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar was appointed as Yang Di-Pertua (Official Appointment Due to Position – Yang Di-Trua of National Customs) and Honorable Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned was appointed as Vice President (Official Appointment Due to Position – Government Mufti).
Meanwhile, the six other appointed members are His Royal Highness Pengiran Sanggamara Major General (B) Pengiran Haji lbnu Basit bin Pengiran Datu Penghulu Pengiran Haji Apong, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, The Honorable Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (B) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, The Honorable Pehin Orang Richa His Majesty the Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar, The Honorable Pehin Orang Pahin His Royal Highness Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abdul Wahab bin Haji Mohd Said, The Honorable Pehin Orang Pahin Hero Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Adanan bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Haji Áwang Mohd Yusof .
While Deputy Permanent Secretary (Public Service Administration), Prime Minister’s Department, Pengiran Haji Raffizanna bin Pengiran Haji Razali as Acting Grand Chamberlain appointed as secretary.
The appointment date of the members of the Council of Electing the King is effective from November 21.
