Crime and justice: Mohammadi has been charged again for sharing an audio file in which she accuses the Iranian state of waging a “full-scale war on women”, the family said in a statement on Saturday. The new trial starts already on Sunday.

Iranian justice authorities have not commented on the case.

Narges Mohammadi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize last year for her work for women’s rights in Iran. She has stood up against the oppression of women, the order that all women must wear a headscarf and against the state’s violent and oppressive methods.

For that, she has been sentenced to twelve years in prison, 154 lashes and various social and political restrictions. She has been in the notorious Evin prison since 2021.
