BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 30 OCT – Residents of the National Housing Plan Village of Kampung Mengkubau and its surroundings, as well as several government agencies have participated in the Assembly to join the Building of a New Mosque in the residential area today.
Also present at the ceremony was the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan.
The new mosque building built on an 8-acre plot of land uses allocations under the National Development Plan amounting to $4.3 million.
The entire capacity of the New Mosque of the Kampung Mengkubau National Housing Plan can accommodate about 2000 worshippers.
Among the facilities provided in the mosque include the main men’s prayer hall, women’s prayer hall, men’s and women’s toilets and ablutions, men’s and women’s toilets for people with special needs.
In addition, the mosque is also equipped with lecture rooms, library rooms, administrative offices, PA system rooms, mortuary management rooms, stores and equipment and parking spaces.
Also present to participate in the ceremony, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (KHEU), Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim; Raes of Seri Begawan College of Religious Education, Associate Professor Dr Haji Abdul Nasir bin Haji Abdul Rani; and acting deputies in KHEU.
