Singer Ning Baizura, 49, admits her intention to join the reality show, Shake Vaganza (GV) season 11 because he wanted to present a beautiful moment to his mother, Satilah Abdullah, 81, who suffers from dementia.
Ning said that he wanted the important person in his life to see him back on the big screen after so long.
“Mother is old and has dementia. I think this is the best time to see his son on TV.
“I feel tearful because maybe mom doesn’t remember the last time I performed on TV, so this is the best gift I can give her.
“Mother has been ill for three years. He’s fit, but I’m sad. As a child, I can only give him the best memories.
“This is one of the most beautiful memories I gave my mother so that she would not forget and be able to see her son’s performance again. My mother used to be my manager,” he said at a press conference announcing the GV11 participants at a hotel in the Malaysian capital, yesterday.
