NEWTON, Kan. (KSNW) — Residents of a Newton neighborhood were woken by an early morning drive-by shooting.
It happened around 3:45 a.m. near Kansas Avenue and SE 4th. Police say when they arrived, they found numerous shell casings in the street and multiple bullet holes in a home.
The victims and witnesses were not cooperative with investigators, according to police, and a search warrant was obtained to recover evidence inside the house and from two vehicles that were struck.
Police say a neighbor’s vehicle was also struck by gunfire. They believe the shooting stemmed from an earlier disturbance at the home.
Police say they are still investigating,g and no arrests have been made. No one was hurt.
