Nonprofit leaves Towne West for a new home

Nonprofit leaves Towne West for a new home

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A nonprofit organization that helps Kansas veterans is moving out of Towne West mall to a storefront at 1202 W. Douglas.

A co-founder of Passageways says its outreach center will now have control over electricity, water, heat and air conditioning, amenities they sometimes didn’t get at the mall.

“It’s really happening here. We’re moving,” Jennifer Garrison, Passageways co-founder, said. “Our phones have been blowing up with people, ‘How can I help?’ We have kids coming in on school buses from Hays and Haysville to come get community hours. It’s been an incredible feeling to see this outpouring of support.”

She said that they plan to have longer hours when their new place on Douglas opens on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
