Culture and entertainment: It is the film “Darling” – with the international title “Loveable” – which has been invited to the film festival in the Czech Karlovy Vary. It is the first feature film from director Lilja Ingolfsdottir.

As the only Nordic film out of a total of twelve invited, “Elskling” has been invited to the main competition for the festival’s Grand Prix Crystal Award.

Lilja Ingolfsdottir has made a number of award-winning short films, most recently “What we fear” and “Som en flamingo” in 2020. Now she has both scripted and directed “Eskling”, which, according to the press release, is about a woman’s opportunity for self-knowledge, growth and settlement with unconscious and dysfunctional patterns in themselves.

The main role of Maria (42) is played by Helga Guren. In addition, Oddgeir Thune, Heidi Gjermundsen Broch, Marte Magnusdotter Solem and Elisabeth Sand are on the cast list.

– I am incredibly proud and honored that “Elskling” will have its world premiere at one of the world’s largest and oldest A-festivals, says Ingfolfsdottir in a statement.

It is produced by “The World’s Worst Man” producer Thomas Robsahm for Nordisk Film Production and Amarcord, and Norwegian cinemagoers can see it from 11 October.
