War and conflicts: In a registration form, it appears that tent campaigns similar to those at a number of American universities are to be set up at the University of Oslo (UiO), writes University.

It also states that they run together with the University of Bergen, the University of Tromsø, the University of South-Eastern Norway and the Norwegian University of the Environment and Life Sciences. The promotions will start in the afternoon on 1 May.

According to the form, the plan is to stay until they are removed by the police, but both the students themselves and UiO have confirmed that they have applied for and received permission.

– We have a close and ongoing dialogue with the organizer about the practical aspects of the implementation, says rector Svein Stølen at UiO.

As of now, there is thus nothing to indicate that the actions will go as violently as the nationwide demonstrations in the USA.

Pro-Palestinian protesters have set up tent camps at a number of universities in the United States, much to the displeasure of the administration. On the night of Wednesday, the protesters at Columbia University in New York were forcibly removed by the police after occupying the administration building.

At other universities too, there have been clashes between students, the police and partly also pro-Israeli students.
