Sport: Midtjylland could thus celebrate the club’s fourth league title and the first since the 2019/20 season. In addition to Brynhildsen, Arne Sandstø is also in the coaching staff of the Danish club. He went to Midtjylland last summer after seven years in Jerv.

Brynhildsen equalized at 2-2 before former elite series legend Aral Simsir scored to make it 3-2. Silkeborg equalized at 3-3, but it meant nothing as Brøndby lost 2-3 to AGF.

Midtjylland’s three goals came within seven minutes just after the break after Silkeborg led 2-0 at the break.

Before the final round, it was Brøndby who were in the driver’s seat with a better goal difference. But the yellow-clad, with Sebastian Sebulonsen and Ohi Omoijuanfo in the team, were unable to redeem themselves.

The Midtjylland fans stormed the pitch after the raucous finish. The match also had an extra ingredient after Kristoffer Olsson was back in the arena.

Three months ago, Midtjylland player Olsson lost consciousness in his home when he was hit by several blood clots in the brain. On Sunday, he was back in the stands to watch the series finale.

Olsson has regained motor function and the ability to speak. He also eats himself and practices walking.

– When you saw how he was at the end of February. That it was the life he was fighting for. The fact that he is here today is bigger than trophies, gold and everything, said Steinlein.

Olsson received applause from the entire stadium eight minutes into the match against Silkeborg.

Zebulonsen scored his first goal of the season when he equalized at 2-2 via the post. Twelve minutes before the end Patrick Mortensen scored 3-2. A hard pressure towards the end did not hold for Brøndby. The yellow-clad missed many great chances.

– That’s how I get tears in my eyes, said Midtjylland’s sporting director Claus Steinlein to Viaplay, reproduced by Ekstra Bladet.
