Sport: Thus finally ended Magdeburg’s terrible final streak. They also made it all the way to the final match in the previous two seasons, but lost to Kiel and Rhein-Neckar Löwen respectively.

On Sunday, however, they took control of the game and secured a 13-11 lead at the break.

After the break, O’Sullivan and co. into an extra gear and finally secured the title with a 30-19 victory. The last time Magdeburg won the cup was way back in 2016.

O’Sullivan was admittedly not the only Norwegian in the final. Sindre Aho was one of the disappointed Melsungen players who had to see themselves beaten.

Agdeburg’s Lukas Märtens was the match’s top scorer with seven hits, while O’Sullivan found the back of the net twice. Aho went off the pitch scoreless.
