Pink stunned as fan goes into labour during her Australian show

There’s never a dull moment at a Pink concert, that’s for sure.

In the past, the So What hitmaker has had cheese wheels gifted to her and a fan has chucked their mother’s ashes onto the stage… yes.

So, it might not come as a shock to hear that someone actually went into labour at her recent gig.

The US star was performing in Sydney on Friday night (February 9) on the first night of her Australian Summer Carnival tour.

Pink, 44, was belting out a ballad when she was alerted to the fact that a pregnant concert-goer was being escorted out.

The Raise A Glass vocalist – whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore – proceeded to joke to a sold-out Allianz Stadium about the newborn being named after her.

‘Is it Alicia or Alex being born?’, she said.

‘I feel like we shouldn’t be looking,’ she joked.

‘Everyone give her her privacy!’

Seeking clarification, Pink continued: ‘She didn’t just have the baby, right? Is the baby here? No? Ok.’

Ever the professional, Pink carried on with the show and kindly wished the new mum well – but not without a cheeky comment about how she played a part in the birth.

‘Wow, Our Song, that was the one that did it. Wouldn’t have called that one!’, she laughed.

‘I thought it would’ve been Get The Party Started or Never Not Gonna Dance Again.

‘That’s exciting. I don’t even know what to say. But we have to sing now.’

‘Good luck! It’s gonna be great! You’re gonna do great,’ she told the fan.

Pink carried on with the show and, in an adorable, rather fitting moment, then brought out her own daughter, Willow, 12, to sing Cover Me in Sunshine.

A video of the fan going into labour at Pink’s concert has since circulated online, with Paul Garrett writing on X: ‘@Pink just stopped her first show in Sydney as a woman went into labour!!! Well handled!’

Hayley Richardson reacted: ‘That’s one heck of a birth story’.

‘Wow! Better than the mother’s ashes thrown at her in London !’, joked Sarah MacDonald.

Indeed, Pink has had some bizarre interactions with fans from the stage over the past year.

In 2023, when it became somewhat trendy to launch random items at singers while they performed, someone made things very awkward when they handed Pink a pouch full of cremated remains.

After learning that they were the ashes of the fan’s late mother, Pink said: ‘I don’t know how to feel about that.’

‘I have to say that was a first,’ she added.

However, if you were hoping to keep up with antics from Pink’s new tour via her own social media, well, don’t rely on X.

She’s now quit the site – owned by Elon Musk – announcing her exit with a dramatic statement on the day of her first show.

She penned to her 30million followers in a since-deleted post: ‘Have you ever been at a party with a bunch of salty old people that never realised their dreams?

‘Where the liquor ran dry ages ago, there’s no music, no one’s dancing, you would’ve had more fun at home with your blind cat? That’s Twitter these days – or whatever it’s called now. Byeeeeeeeeeee.’

‘This account will self-destruct in two minutes. Do it!!!!’, she signed off.
