Police on Thursday met with the minister of justice to discuss criminalisation of false, imaginary or non-existent complaints.
According to an announcement by the Cyprus police association (Sak), a bill on the matter has already been sent for legal technical review to the legal services and upon its completion will be sent to Sak for review.
The promotion of specialised members up to the rank of Senior Constable was also discussed.
Redressing injustices regarding the salaries for Special Police were discussed as well as the amending of regulations governing of non-commissioned officers.
The recommendations are expected to be sent to the parliament’s legal committee soon.
Minister of Justice and Public Order Anna Koukkides-Prokopiou, and Chief of Police Stylianos Papatheodorou participated in the meeting.
