BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, 28 OCT – The Pooman Jaya Enterprise Group has expanded its chain of stores with the opening of a fourth branch in Kampung Salar this morning.
The opening of the store was completed by the High Commissioner appointed to Brunei Darussalam, Noureen Ahsan.
Also present were the Director of Pooman Jaya Enterprise, Haji Mohd Najmuddin bin Haji Mohd Maideen and Acting Head of Tanah Jambu and Salar Village, Awang Haji Sarabani bin Haji Bakir
“The opening of this branch is proof of our commitment not only to business growth but also community development. We believe in providing more than just products and services, we want to contribute to the well-being of society,” said Haji Mohd Najmuddin.
Poomaan Jaya currently employs a total of 40 local workers in this new branch and has plans to further increase the number of workers by giving priority to the people of Brunei, especially the youth and residents of Kampung Salar and the surrounding areas.
“We are here to create sustainable opportunities for our community members, to support them in building careers and gaining experience that will benefit them in the long term,” he added.
In addition to providing employment, Poomaan Jaya has pledged to contribute to the less fortunate in Kampung Salar and the wider Brunei community. This includes donations of basic necessities, educational support and special assistance for families facing economic difficulties.
“We focus on supporting the well-being of those most in need. By working with local charitable organizations and community leaders, we can ensure that our donations reach those who will benefit the most,” said Haji Najmuddin.
The new branch offers a variety of quality products at reasonable prices making basic goods more accessible to local residents. The director expressed the hope that the company’s efforts will bring positive change to the community, as well as foster trust and mutual growth between Poomaan Jaya and the community.
As Poomaan Jaya continues to grow, its commitment to community support and social responsibility remains at the core of its operations.
He also recalled how the first branch was opened in Kampung Kapok, while the second branch was opened in Kampung Tanjung Nangka, Kampung Manggis and the latest in Kampung Salar.
With the early opening of the new branch today, people did not miss the opportunity to flood the supermarket from 9am. A resident of Kampung Rimba, Awang Elias who was interviewed said that with the presence of a supermarket in the village, it will make it easier for them to shop while saving time.
In conjunction with the opening of the store, a total of 12 orphans in Kampung Salar also received donations in the form of daily necessities.
