Prince Harry attended a star-studded dinner party in New York City over the weekend – without Meghan Markle by his side.
The Duke of Sussex, 40, attended the World Health Organization’s private dinner on “violence against children and its impact on mental health” in the Big Apple Sunday night.
The red-headed royal posed for photos with Forest Whitaker and Queen Mathilde of Belgium and was seen schmoozing with several UN Agency workers throughout the evening.
Harry looked polished in a black suit layered over a white shirt. He opted to ditch a tie for the event leading up to the UN General Assembly, which takes place on Monday.
In many pics, he appeared to be concentrating as attendees raised awareness about child abuse.
“Violence takes many forms – both physical and psychological – and each leaves a lasting impact on those who experience it,” Will Poulter, who was also in attendance, told the audience.
“With one billion children around the world experiencing such violence, the statistics are staggering, but they represent real lives,” he added. “It’s our collective responsibility to ensure that these children are protected.”
A spokesperson for Harry previously shared that he would be embarking on his trip to New York solo.
The Invictus Games founder was scheduled to be in New York ahead of the UN General Assembly and Climate Week.
Harry and his wife are known to rub shoulders with big Hollywood players.
Last Friday, Harry also attended Kevin Costner’s annual fundraising event in Santa Barbara, Calif., where he presented an award on stage.
Markle, 43, was reportedly absent from the event as she wasn’t feeling well that day.
“We were all hoping Meghan would attend like she did last year but the word is that she is sick and could not make it,” a source told The Mirror last week.
However, just days prior, Markle and Harry both attended close pal Tyler Perry’s A-list 55th birthday party in Montecito, Calif.
The two were seen leaving the bash together in an SUV while their close friends Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King were spotted leaving in a separate car.
