Policy: The visit was the Defense Force’s 18th birthday gift to the prince, informs The royal house.

At Setermoen, the camp in Indre Troms where the Norwegian Armed Forces have been training soldiers since 1898, the prince was given an introduction to Brigade Nord’s departments.

Chief of Defense Eirik Kristoffersen and the Chief of the Army, Major General Lars S. Lervik, accompanied the prince throughout the day, while soldiers from the Panzer, Artillery and Intelligence Battalion shared their experiences.

Among other things, Sverre Magnus himself got to drive an armored car at Setermoen. During the visit to the Intelligence Battalion, he also received a briefing on and training in the use of drones.

The prince’s sister, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, has since January served her initial service at Skjold camp in Troms. Like the rest of the royal family, she does not have a surname, so on the uniform, where others have surnames, it says “recruit Alexandra”.

King Harald is formally the commander-in-chief of the armed forces. The same will be the case for Ingrid Alexandra on the day she inherits the throne.
