BELAIT, 23 SEPT – In an effort to deliver information on current issues and government policies and at the same time receive feedback that needs to be taken into account and acted upon by the relevant government agencies, the Information Department, the Prime Minister’s Department through the District Information Branch Belait, District Branch Division, has held a Face-to-Face Program for Kampung Lumut II, Mukim Liang, Belait District located in Sungai Tali Room, Liang Lumut Recreation Club (LLRC), Jalan Pantai Lumut, recently.
Present leading the delegation of the Information Department was the Acting Senior Information Officer, Dayang Saadiatul Aqilah binti Haji Jaman.
Also present to deliver information to the villagers were officials from the Public Works Department, Ministry of Development, Electricity Services Department, Water Services Department and DST Network Sdn Bhd (DSTN).
The program started with an introduction from the head of the delegation where he emphasized the role of the Information Department as the tongue, eyes and ears of the government in conveying any latest information, government policies and current issues to the people and residents of this country through several channels.
One of the programs under the Department of Information’s work strategy, which is Face-to-Face Communication, is intended to improve two-way relations between the government-people and the people-government by providing information and managing community relations programs that can contribute to the development and progress of the mukim or village.
The head of Kampung Lumut II, Haji Khairdon bin Haji Dahlan in his response, among other things, welcomed the program, which certainly can provide benefits and a golden opportunity for the residents of the village to hear the latest information presented by government agencies in developing solutions to several issues. which is presented and needs to be known by the villagers.
In addition, it also provides an opportunity for the villagers to exchange thoughts and views and as one of the platforms to sprout ideas in efforts towards the progress and well-being of the village and also Brunei Darussalam.
The program was also filled with a dialogue session with the villagers on the issues raised which were related to the environment, safety and emergency, infrastructure and public facilities and other matters.
