Despite some light snow being nearby to the north, local travel will continue to remain in good shape. Expect dry roads and fair skies as we head into Friday.
Early risers will need to bundle up due to temperatures starting below freezing again. The afternoon will be chilly again too but some spots will be able to briefly reach the 50s.
Our next system starts to swing into the area this evening. Initially, there will not be much cloud cover or moisture associated with it.
Fair skies and light winds during the night will allow temperatures to drop below freezing again. Lows will be in the teens to the low 30s.
As we go through the night the disturbance will continue to track through the area. There is a chance that it could spark a mix of wintry and wet weather all the way into Saturday morning. Most of this potential moisture will not impact us but we will still need to keep an eye on counties that are on the northern and eastern edge of the area.
This disturbance will be gone by midday Saturday. The rest of the weekend will be partly sunny and chilly.
Even beyond the next few days, we will be locked into a dry pattern for a while. We may have to wait until the week after next before moisture returns to the area.
Milder air starts to fight back next week. Overnights will still be near and below freezing but afternoon highs will be in the 50s.
