Sport: On Wednesday, the Canadian reached the semi-finals without hitting a ball when world number two Jannik Sinner withdrew due to a hip injury.

On Saturday it was 3-3 in the semi-final against Jiri Lehecka when the Czech gave up due to lower back pain.

Auger-Aliassime will meet Andrej Rublev in Sunday’s final. The Russian beat American Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-3 in his semi-final.

If Rublev wins the final, he will pass Ruud in the ATP rankings and take 6th place.

Auger-Aliassime has already made sure to get into the top 20 again.
