KUCHING, SEPT 4 – Sarawak is taking a bold step towards innovation and excellence in problem solving by using the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ), said Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian.
He said this well-known method was developed in collaboration with thousands of inventors, offering a systematic approach to overcoming complex challenges and fostering inventive thinking.
“Through reverse engineering the patent database and extracting smart thoughts, TRIZ practitioners show their method of thinking outside the box when coming up with ideas that not only improve their thinking process, but also create the desire to modify and perfect solutions for different problems.
“It is indeed a skill that we need to cultivate, especially when looking at the transformation of the country by creating a high-value economic engine and applying the best talent development system,” he said at the opening ceremony of the 19th TRIZfest 2024 International Conference, today.
The text of his speech was read by the Mayor of Kuching Selatan, Datuk Wee Hong Seng.
Meanwhile, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) in a statement at the conference informed that the event which started today until September 6 was organized in collaboration with Malaysia TRIZ, Sarawak TRIZ, and the International TRIZ Association (MATRIZ).
Under the theme of Innovating with TRIZ and AI for Sustainable Global Growth, the conference featured keynote speeches by leading TRIZ experts, panel discussions, interactive workshops and networking sessions. – Named
