KUCHING, 15 NOV – Sarawak will host EIC CONNECT Energy Borneo 2025, a conference to explore business opportunities in the regional energy market, which will be held in this city on 25 to 26 February 2025.
Sarawak’s Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni said the inaugural conference would involve participation from Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei and Indonesia, as well as encouraging cross-border cooperation to speed up the energy transition in the Borneo region.
“The vision and objectives of this conference are in line with Sarawak’s goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
“The heart of EIC CONNECT Energy Borneo 2025 is our commitment to drive the energy transition more aggressively,” he said.
Speaking to reporters outside the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly here today, he said the two-day conference had a theme Net Zero as a Catalyst for Economic Prosperity, Collaborative Actions in Achieving Regional Synergies and Strategies for Strengthening Energy Security, with special speeches from representatives of senior government officials from participating countries. – Named
