SEA Games 2025: Field bowling is not contested

KUALA LUMPUR, 30 OCT – Field bowling, Malaysia’s gold mine, has been confirmed not to be contested at the 2025 Thailand SEA Games.

President of the Malaysian Lawn Bowls Federation (PLBM), Datuk Awalan Abdul Aziz said the decision was made at the SEA Sports Federation (SEAGF) Council Meeting held in Thailand on October 25.

He said his party was disappointed with the result considering that Thailand had good facilities when it hosted the Asian Bowling Championships in Pattaya last March.

“We have made every effort to ensure that field bowling is contested at the 2025 Thailand SEA Games, which has also received support from several other countries.

“However, when it was presented in the October 25 meeting, Thailand stated that they were not ready to host the field bowling event.

“We are unable to do anything because they are the host,” he said when contacted Named.

The last time field bowling was contested was at the SEA Games during the 2019 edition in the Philippines – Bernama
