WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Services will take place Saturday for former Wichita State University Dean Dr. James “Jim” Rhatigan.
Rhatigan, 89, died Sunday. Rhatigan spent decades at WSU, beginning in 1965.
He was Vice President of Student Affairs from 1970 until 1996 and then Senior Vice President for six years. He retired from the position in 2002. He then served as a consultant for the WSU Foundation until 2014.
A Celebration of Life for Rhatigan will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the University Congregational Church. A reception will follow from 2:30 to 4:00 pm at the building named in his honor, the Rhatigan Student Center at Wichita State.
The University Congregational Church’s website will also host a live stream of the service for those who cannot attend.
