Crime and justice: A ten-storey block of flats collapsed after it was hit by a Ukrainian rocket attack on the Russian city of Belgorod close to the border. Seven people have been confirmed killed and twelve injured, says Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko.

Two children were pulled from the ruins. At one point, some members of a rescue team were also trapped in the ruins.

– The city and the Belgorod region have been the subject of a massive Ukrainian rocket attack, says the region’s governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.

On Saturday, the Russians said they had also taken control of the towns of Pletenivka, Ohirtseve, Borysivka, Pylna and Striletshna. All of these are also located in Kharkiv, near the border with Russia. Over the weekend, over 4,000 people have fled towns and villages in the Kharkiv region. Many of them are older.

Russia will start its ground offensive against the Kharkiv region on Friday.

The Ukrainian military is doing what it can to hold the front line, says Ukraine’s defense chief Oleksandr Syrskyj in a statement on Sunday.

The four cities are located in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, the Russian Ministry of Defense says. It concerns the villages of Hatyshche, Krasne, Morokhovets and Oliinykove.

As a result of Russia’s ground offensive, several Ukrainians have evacuated from villages around Kharkiv Oblast. Kharkiv borders Russia and has been the subject of multiple attacks over the past year. During the weekend, over 4,000 people fled. Many of them are older.
