Open container, Clearbrooke Drive
Police responded to a disturbance in a parking lot at 4:41 a.m. Oct. 20. A man found “shirtless and yelling in the parking lot [with] several open White Claw cans … observed at [his] feet as well as in his truck” was cited for having open containers of alcohol in a public place and was released.
Shoplifting, Center Road
A Bedford Heights man was arrested for stealing more than $183 worth of merchandise from Meijer at 7:03 p.m. Oct. 24. According to reports, the man attempted to leave the scene when police arrived and ignored officers’ verbal commands to stop walking. He was eventually taken into custody and taken to the Medina County Jail on the theft charge as well as resisting arrest, driving under suspension and no operator’s license.
Impaired driver, Center Road
Police responded to a single-vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of Center and North Carpenter roads at 10:16 pm Oct. 23. Police smelled the odor of alcohol inside the car and the driver, a 20-year-old Medina woman, reportedly spoke with slurred speech and had red, glossy eyes. She failed field sobriety tests and registered nearly twice the legal limit for intoxication on a breath test and was arrested for operating a motor vehicle impaired, open container and underage consumption.
Drunkenness, Foxwood Terrace
Police responded to an apartment building at 2:51 a.m. Oct. 27 for a report of a man in the foyer ringing buzzers and banging on the door attempting to get in. It was learned the man was at the wrong building. He reportedly admitted to consuming alcohol and also had a large cut on the right side of his head. According to reports, the man could not explain how the injury occurred. He was taken to the Brunswick Cleveland Clinic for treatment, was cited for drunkenness and was released.
