WINFIELD, Kan. (KSNW) — Black Friday shoppers heard gunfire as they were coming and going from the Walmart in Winfield on Friday. Some witnesses reported hearing six to seven gunshots in the parking lot around 3 p.m.
The Winfield Police Department responded and did not find any victims or a suspect, but they did find evidence that someone had fired a gun. They began interviewing witnesses, which led them to several victims who had left the scene.
The victims were not injured. They told officers they did not know the person who had shot at them while they were inside their vehicle.
The Winfield Police Department wants to talk to more people about what happened. They are seeking witnesses, victims, and, ultimately, a suspect.
