The songwriter Kamrad (27), who is taking part as a coach for the first time in the new season of the casting show “The Voice of Germany”, still lives in his small hometown of Velbert near Wuppertal – and enjoys the peace and quiet in the town of 85,000 inhabitants. “Of course it has been my dream to be an artist, to be on stage and to take part in such television shows,” the musician told the German Press Agency. “But it is important for my head to have this balance.”
He is a family man and likes to talk to friends about topics outside of music. “I think the small town without the musician life would be too boring and too quiet for me. And this full-throttle life without a place to retreat would be too much for me. The two together are the perfect combination for me.”
The 27-year-old has enjoyed success in other European countries in recent years with his singles “Feel Alive” and “I Believe”. Starting this Thursday, he will be appearing on “The Voice” alongside Mark Forster, Yvonne Catterfeld and Samu Haber. The music show is broadcast on Thursdays (ProSieben) and Fridays (Sat.1) at 8:15 p.m.
