The country’s biduanita Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza is one of the artists who collaborated and recorded the great works of the late composer Datuk S Atan.
Among the songs that have been produced for Siti by the deceased are: Joget Love Never Gone, Rhyming Love, Staring, Entertaining Dancer and When Hari Raya Appears.
Recalling the collaboration between them, Siti or Siti Nurhaliza Taruddin, 45, said that the songs created by the deceased are also among her choices when performing on stage or in concerts.
“I am very lucky to be able to sing his songs that I rarely leave out in any performance or concert of traditional songs.
“He is also the producer of traditional songs in my albums,” he said.
Siti wrote the matter on her Instagram yesterday as a tribute to S Atan who had just passed away.
Siti added, the passing of the deceased is considered a great loss for the local music industry.
“I would like to convey my condolences to the family of the late Datuk S Atan on the passing of a loved one,” he said.
S Atan or Hashim Said breathed his last on Saturday evening at his residence in Kajang, Selangor due to shortness of breath and heart complications.
Throughout his life S Atan has produced more than 1,000 songs for popular singers Tan Sri SM Salim, Datuk DJ Dave, Datuk Jamal Abdillah, the late Datuk Sudirman Arshad including Siti himself. – Agency
