Sport: – The funny thing about it is that VAR didn’t work in half the match. We were told about it by the fourth referee in the first half, that it didn’t work. Then they probably turned it on, then, five seconds before that goal, said Ståle Solbakken.

Both the players out on the field and the Norwegian bench reacted to the decision to cancel Haaland’s goal because Morten Thorsby was in an offside position. The decision was made two and a half minutes after the score, and after referee Stéphanie Frappart had been outside at the monitor to assess whether Thorsby influenced the game.

– It is touch and go if Thorsby is in that situation there. It was a questionable cancellation, said Solbakken, who in the press zone used both Danish and English terms.

– I had nothing to do with the goal. I don’t understand… I just stood and watched when Erling scored. I didn’t cover the scope of anyone. It was strange, very strange, Thorsby told NTB.

– It felt very unfair.

– The goal was canceled in a strange way, I feel, he said.

Ødegaard played Haaland until a decisive goal seven minutes later, but the team never got the equalizer the Norwegians felt they deserved. Instead, Denmark punctured the match just before the end.

Haaland was played forward by Martin Ødegaard, tricked the ball between the legs of Joachim Andersen and scored.

Ødegaard thought the same.
