KAPIT, 23 SEPT – A soldier died as a result of being shot, believed to have been fired by civilians who were hunting animals in the forest area of KM 8, Jalan Balak Multiplus, Song, early this morning.
Song District Police Chief, DSP Rowney Michael Jalak said Petrus Linggi Liman, 29, suffered severe injuries to his left thigh and back.
He said the victim was on the swing at the time (hammock) while participating in the tactical training of earth stakes in the forest area.
“The victim was rushed to Kapit Hospital for treatment but was confirmed dead at 7:43 am by the hospital’s medical officer,” he said when contacted. Named today.
