Policy: Spain announced over the weekend that the ambassador would be brought home indefinitely, and Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares said Tuesday that the ambassador “will remain permanently in Madrid.”

– Argentina will no longer have a Spanish ambassador, says Albares. Spain’s embassy in Buenos Aires will from now on be led by Spain’s chargé d’affaires, says Albares.

On Sunday, Milei called Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s wife Begona Gómez a “corrupt woman” when he visited the national meeting of the Spanish far-right party Vox.

The president did not use Sánchez’ or Gómez’s name, but he worded himself in a way that made it clear who he was referring to. On Friday, he began the visit by giving a speech in which he criticized “satanic socialism”. Sánchez belongs to the social democratic party PSOE.
