WASHINGTON, NOV 26 – The United States (US) Special Counsel, Jack Smith, who previously charged former president Donald Trump with the offense of manipulating election results and handling classified documents, applied to drop both cases against the president-elect yesterday, reported Xinhua.
The election tampering case was officially dismissed without prejudice by US District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan in Washington, after Smith filed a motion to dismiss it.
The classified documents case was dropped in July by US District Court Judge Aileen Cannon in Florida with Smith at the time planning to appeal the decision. – Named
